6 Miles with the Bachelor

No, this guy didn’t join me on my run today.

But Ben, Nicki, Lindzi, and Courtney kept me entertained while I did this:

Mile       Time      Avg. Pace
1              10:09     10'09"/mi
2              20:20     10'11"/mi
3              30:26     10'06"/mi
4              40:29     10'03"/mi
5              50:37     10'08"/mi
6              1:00:39  10'02"/mi

To be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of Ben’s when he was on Ashley’s season and I can’t say this season has changed my mind about him. I just don’t think he’s exciting enough to be the Bachelor. All the Courtney drama has made her the star of the show and it feels like Ben is just along for the ride.

This week’s dates took place in Switzerland and wow, what a gorgeous country! It was already on my list of places to see but I’m even more anxious to get there now.

The first date was with Nicki. It was a typical Bachelor date with a helicopter ride and picnic on a mountain. I do feel that Nicki genuinely cares for Ben but their date didn’t stand out in any way so I wasn’t surprised to see her go home.

Next up was Lindzi, who got to go rappelling. I think we can all agree that we don’t need any more “extreme sports are like relationships” metaphors :P  Although it was pretty funny to see Ben look so completely terrified! At this point it seems like a given that Ben will choose Courtney but I do think there is potential for him and Lindzi.

Finally, the moment Ben had been waiting for, his date with Courtney, which involved shopping for food and yet another picnic. This is where Courtney started apologizing for her behavior and saying how she regretted the way she treated the other girls. There were even fake tears involved in her interview session. Nice try Court :P

As we saw in last week’s previews, Kacie B. returned to ask Ben for an explanation as to why he let her go.

My heart goes out to this girl - there she was pouring her heart out to Ben and this was the look on his face the entire time:

I’m 99.9% sure he did not hear a word until she said “Courtney”. Yep, that got his attention!

During the deliberation with Chris, Ben tries to appear conflicted and he tells Chris that what Kacie B. told him about Courtney really made him think. But we all know there is no way Courtney wouldn’t make it to the final two.

So now it is down to Lindzi and Courtney. I would really like Ben to choose Lindzi in the end just because it would be a fun twist. But I also think that his choosing Courtney would result in tons of drama for the After the Final Rose episode. All I know is that Chris Harrison guarantees that the finale is going to be the “most dramatic finale in Bachelor history.” ;)

What did you guys think of this week’s episode? Were you surprised that Nicki was sent home? Or that Ben didn’t take Kacie B. back?

  1. I think that this must be a sign. I have had two other people mention something to me about The Bachelor. Apparently, I need to start watching it! I am just so impressed with your pacing. I am a slow runner, so I am always envious when I see people who can rock it!

    1. You're doing great with your running! This was a tempo run for me, there is no way I could keep it up for 13 miles ;) I do my long runs at around 11 - 11:30 min/miles.

  2. I just started watching The Bachelor half way through this season. I do not see why Ben is the B at all. I'm sorry but I do not think he is attractive.
Awesome job on the six miles, not sure I could run that far on the TM.

    1. I know, he is not cute :S

I cannot stand the cold and I'm a total klutz so any snow or ice is just a disaster waiting to happen. I admire you for running outside in the winter!
